Here is a story..its a pretty much pointless story yet i feel like telling it. well i drive a bradley (see the link below, but thats only the rear end of it) anyways i drive that massive beast. we were giving road test today so other people could get liscensed to drive those fuckers. we were using my track to give the road tests. everyone that was testing on it was in the theater parking lot waiting for us to get there so they could drive one for the 1st time in their life. we were coming down the road with me driving of course and me and my crew decided to show off a bit for the guys waiting in the parking lot so i gassed the fucker before the turn and just jerked the yoke (steering column) hard right into the parking lot. i came fuckin flying in that parking lot sideways in that fuckin beast and scared the holy shit out of everyone about to drive it. you should have seen their faces as i slid in sideways and floored it across the parking lot and came to a screaching stop next to them. it was definatly a great day today.
oh and i bought my plane ticket home today. ill be arriving in raleigh on may 24 at 4 45 pm.....see you guys soon

A SOLDIER'S NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS
'Twas the night before Christmas, he lived all alone. In a no bedroom house made of plaster and stone.

here lately my attitude toward everything has been shitty. ive been really down about just every little thing. im not sure why exactly but i know a lot has to do with being away from whit, my firends and family and all the boredom korea causes. ive been trying to get out of this slump ive been in. i know its been really hard on whit watching me all down and depressed, so i had to fix that quick. i love her so much and couldent live without her, shes the best, thank you <3. last night after hanging out with some of the guys at a local punk show (yes i know its korea, but us american ppl still like punk) i decided to take my boredom and frustration out on skateboarding. yes thats right i went to itaiwon in search of a skateboard shop. after being ripped off by the taki drivers, passing the korean nationals protesting the presidents impeachment with rocks and sticks i found it. the holy grail. Tussa Skateshop. i went tnuts in there, bought Sens shoes, put together a girl board, venture trucks, 53 mm blank wheels, diamond bearings and a cool Popwar hat i was ready to rock again. im glad i decided to do this because it will make it easier on me here which means it makes things on whit easier and thats the ultimate goal. dang i miss that short girl. cant wait till shes done livin it up in florida. my emo days are over....now its straight punked out skating and old rock till may comes. YAY!!!

this morning at around 0930 i was told to grab my shit and get ready to go qualify with my weapon. when i 1st got here i zeroed it but i didnt feel that comfortable with it so i was not sure how i was gonna shoot. we got to the range and had two tries to qualify before rezeroing our weapons. (qualifying is hitting a minimum of 23 of 40 pop up targets from 50m to 300m) well my 1st 2 tries. i shot 22 bothtimes but as i expected my zero was off and could not hit anything past 150m. the range is a shitty ass range too, the lanes are straight up the side of a mtn just like everything else in korea. some of the targets were fucked up and did not fall when you hit them so that was also a problem in qualifying. i have a funny story ill have to tell when i get home about a target that didnt fall so i lit that fucker up. but i zeroed my rifle in again with i think 9 shots. the 1st 2 sets of 3 were high so i made my adjustments and my next three were in the black, 2 in the chest and one in the head so i was happy with that shot group . my next time up to qualify i could tell a big difference and shot 30 of 40 for sharpshooter. ill shoot expert next time. the bad part about it tho, my last time on the line i shot without earplugs which is normal for me, but this time after i shot up my 40 rounds, i could not and still can not hear ANYTHING through my left ear. its been 10 hrs since then and still nothing from my left ear......maybe tomorrow. oh yea, ill be home for 18 days, may 24-june 9 for leave. if this damn ear stays the same it might be a lil sooner tho.
whit once again im sorry about grad, i wish i could be there but you know the army, and i hope you enjoy your new stuff!!! i miss you and love you <333 |

i just found out that i wont be able to make it to whits graduation on may 22nd like the original plan. we have a 26 day field problem at the end of april and dont get back till may 22 and so i wont be able to leave for midtour untill may 27 because of recovery. im really sorry about this whit, i know you wanted me to be there and so did i more than anything. i promise to make it up to you. damn the army. dont worry, leave will still be awesome and you have to put the gown on for me anyways when i get home.

i didnt post last night. i was real tired. after i got off work, i talked to whit online for a lil bit. after she crashed me and zanetti just frickin played CS from like 5 to 8 and then i crashed at 8 and slept till 5 30 this morning, so i felt great.

its still boring as crap here. today after our pt session of 300 push ups and 2 mile run. we cleaned 3 coax's for like 45 minutes and then i sat in my room on the computer from 1015 to 1300 when i tried again for the second time to get my date of rank fixed. for those who dont know i just got promoted to the same rank ive been for the past six months so i really need to get that fixed so i get the right promotion at the right time. ill try again tomorrow, oh well. we done a few little sprints this afternoon for pt instead of our normal basketball. maybe tomorrow. then i finally got flores computer up and running and a network setup in my room here. haha i love this shit. it works good too. im going to bed pretty soon tho cause im pretty tired.
oh yea, by the way, james im me this morning from iraq after pt. that was awesome to get to talk to him (ill try to wear jessica down for you man, dont worry) |

damn, we just got done with pt and we done litter carries for an hour. thats some hardcore pain endurance right there. run missions, LZ to LZ in time windows. damn, while pulling rear and forward security. trust me, it sounds a lot easier than it is. it will smoke the shit out of someone. well, im off to get ready for work, so ill post after i get off work |

well, its 1540 and we are probably getting off work soon i hope. this has been kind of a dick around day. we cleaned our weapons, which didnt need cleaned because we cleaned them for 3 hrs last week and they have sat in the arms room since then and not been touched. busy work....it passes the time.
today during my lunch was definatly great. i got to see whit on the webcam for like an hour and a half. seeing that bright smile and those brown eyes, definatly made my day <3. not much to talk about right now, gonna try and play some CS soon tho.
post sometime later tonight, zanetti is having a "friend" over after work so im gonna split with flores for awhile. go get em' Z
